Supplier Development Engineer_CNC in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China

Role Description

  • Manage OK2Build deliverables in new product introduction phases to ensure the readiness of the suppliers manufacturing process and quality controls before each build:
  • Collaborate with SQE to Develop/implement/monitor supplier Quality Control Plans for early detection of quality issues to ensure parts meet or exceed quality and reliability requirements
  • Lead CNC & Polishing process qualification, including machine, fixture, cutter, polishing consumables to support project ramp up.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers for their manufacturing and quality capabilities based on project needs.
    • Conduct 3D/2D drawings review and drive issue closure with product design/ENG team;
    • Review and approve DFM for CNC machining & polishing processes and fixture kick off;
    • Analyze yield data and FAI/CPK reports to assess suppliers capability to meet design intent, plan and conduct DOE to improve process efficiency, reduce cycle time, and increase functional, cosmetic, and dimensional yields;
    • Minimum Qualifications
    • 5 years or above experience in CNC manufacturing area for mechanical components.
    • Ability to work & communicate with written English and basic verbal communication.
    • Expertise in CNC (Computer numerical control) manufacturing process in achieving stable dimension, good cosmetic, short cycle time. 1)machine selection, 2)program & cutter & fixture design optimization, 4)machines/Cell qualification
    • Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
    • Knowledge of surface finishing operations for SUS/Aluminum: Polishing, Lapping, Sand blasting, Anodizing.
    • Knowledge of SUS/Aluminum raw materials control & FA.
    • Comfortable working both independently and as a team player in a globally distributed team. Demonstrated sense of ownership, detail oriented, organized and hands-on.
    • Hands-on experience with CNC G-Code and CAM(computer-aided manufacturing) programming (MasterCAM or NX)
    • Strong skills leading problem solving processes: problem definition, containment, occurrence/escape root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action planning and execution;
    • Experience with interpretation of design drawings/GD&T, schematics, and cosmetic standards for creation;

      Ability to use common data analysis tools (JMP or Minitab and etc);
