Job Responsibilities
- Conduct Process and Equipment focused Design and DFM review for display engine programs.
- Conduct Process FMEA review, identify risks for equipment DFM, FAT, and SAT.
- Execute equipment FAT and SAT, write reports on the execution of equipment FAT and SAT, communicate the results with display engine XFNs.
- Execute LBU, Mini and Main builds, write build summary reports and communicate the results with display engine XFNs.
- Conduct FACAs, plan and execute DOEs, promptly resolve the issues appearing in FAT, SAT, display engine builds, write FACA summary reports, communicate the results with display engine XFNs.
- Drive display engine manufacturing partners and component suppliers to achieve build goals.
- Continuously monitor and improve process performance, including yield, throughput, and quality.
- Support various build milestone XFN reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in one of the engineering fields, e.g., Optical, Mechanical, Materials, Physics, Chemical, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the development of assembly processes and equipment for display/optical imaging assemblies in consumer electronics device.
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, including design for manufacturability, prototyping, and production ramp-up in consumer electronics industry.
- Experience with lamination and bonding process, equipment, surface treatment, packaging process.
- Experience in material selection, OCA/LOCA and structural adhesive properties, and polymer science.
- Experience in optical system performance tolerance analysis and mechanical tolerance analysis.
- Experience in optical metrology techniques, e.g., image quality, display quality, MTF, Through-Focus Profile, lens optical testing, interferometry, polarization, photometry, CMM, OMM, AOI, machine vision, confocal microscopy, etc.
- Knowledge of optical components and optical component testing for display an imaging, e.g., lens assembly, Polarized Beam Splitter (PBS) polarization optics, beam combining assembly, optical thin film,
- Knowledge of developing alignment processes and equipment to optimize optical assembly, and how to specify automation for high volume production of precision modules
- Experience performing and designing DOEs, data analysis, SPC control, Gauge R&R, root cause investigation, failure analysis, implement corrective action
- 6-sigma statistical method and experience in data analysis with tools such as MATLAB, JMP, MiniTab.
- Proficiency, fluency and experience communicating with internal and external crossfunctional teams in both English and Chinese.
- Experience directing product and process development efforts at China contract manufacturers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working across teams, including internal cross-functional engagements and external domestic/international vendor engagements.
Preferred qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the development of assembly processes and equipment for display/optical imaging assemblies in consumer electronics devices.
- 6-sigma experience (Black Belt).
- Ability to read and understand display quality metrics and applications, optical and mechanical tolerance analysis.
- Experience developing optical calibration procedures for assembly equipment.
- Experience in optical, mechanical, and electrical design verification.
- Experience in display system and optical imaging system integration development
- Experienced in developing processes and equipment for AR/VR applications.
- Experience ramping new processes and technologies from development to scale for high volume products.
- Tools: Experience in 3D modeling/2D drafting using NX, ProE, or SolidWorks.
- Skilled in evaluating and developing new technology capabilities at external vendors
