Job Description
- Lead the development and optimization of metal processing techniques, including CNC machining, casting, die casting, liquid forging, and heat treatment, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards.
- Conduct comprehensive DFM reviews across all metal processing methods, providing actionable feedback to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Continuously evaluate and refine metal processing practices to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency, maintaining competitive manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, quality, and production teams to integrate metal processing techniques into product development seamlessly.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives with suppliers, focusing on CNC machining, casting, heat treatment, and forging; ensure consistent, high-quality output from suppliers.
- Oversee the development and testing of prototypes for metal-processed components, ensuring scalability for mass production.
- Stay current with new technologies in metal processing, integrating relevant innovations to keep Customer at the forefront of manufacturing capabilities.
- Travel frequently to supplier locations and manufacturing sites to oversee processes, conduct assessments, and ensure quality standards are met.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in both cold (CNC machining) and hot (casting, die casting, forging, heat treatment) metal processing, particularly with aluminum alloys.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct strategic DFM reviews across multiple metal processing methods to enhance manufacturability and reduce production costs.
- Proven track record in optimizing metal processing techniques to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- High proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for designing and simulating metal components.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to oversee metal fabrication processes and ensure component integration within two-wheeled vehicles.
- Fluency in English for effective communication in an English-speaking office environment; fluency in Chinese is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering Degree in BSME or a related field with 5+ years of experience in metal processing, focusing on aluminum alloys.
- Expertise in CNC machining, casting, die casting, liquid forging, and heat treatment.
- Proven experience leading NPI projects for metal processing methods from concept to mass production.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with suppliers to improve quality and enhance metal processing capabilities.
