As an Optical System Engineer for the Augment Reality display, you will closely work with optic testers suppliers and contract manufacturers to deliver high quality optic data by establishing reliable optic testers, optic test metrology, and data pipeline. You will work on these optic data to identify gaps between theoretical simulation and ground truth performance to influence the design as well as to improve the process and tool for
better yield rate. Throughout the product cycle, you will collaborate with suppliers, contract manufacturer, research scientists, optic engineers, mechanical engineers, reliability engineers, and system architects/engineers to mature the optic system design and assembly processes from prototype to mass production.
Responsibilities
1. Deliver optic test metrology, data pipeline, and optic data analysis
Operate optic lab and optic testers.
2. Design and perform optical performance related DOE for yield improvement activities and drive FACA, work closely with cross-function teams for results.
3. Travel > 70% within China.
Qualifications
1. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in the field of Optical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, related degree or equivalent work experience.
2. 5+ years of experience in AR/VR/Camera/Display industry
3. Track record in designing and implementing optic methodology.
4. Experience working in a lab environment for display or optical systems.
5. Fluent English speaking and writing
6. Experience designing and performing and DOEs, data analysis, six sigma, SPC control, Gauge R&R with JMP/Python.
