Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Johor, Malaysia. As part of a dynamic, cross functional team, the ideal candidate should demonstrate knowledge of industry best practices in quality system setup, yield improvement and factory qualification as well as issue resolution. You will be representing customers on a quality side for manufacturing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage our contract manufacturer (CM) site from a quality perspective in both NPI and mass production phases.
  • audit their quality system, and assess their manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of materials, product design, manufacturing, assembly, testing etc.
  • Work with customer product quality engineer to set and execute advanced quality plans including incoming, in process and outgoing quality check for assemblies or components.
  • Define and review specification requirements for fit, function, and reliability by working together with customer Mechanical Engineering, Hardware Engineering and reliability team.
  • Coordinate with contributing groups to ensure updates are processed on schedule.
  • Work with massive amounts of data and measure quality.
  • Identify, record, and report any problems through trend analysis.
  • Perform incoming sampling plan, in process audit plan, OBA audit plan and Annual audit plan.
  • Audit and support functions on CAPA’s, SCAR’s and Internal Audits.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions to non-compliance.
  • Develop, review, approve work instructions, Quality plan.
  • Review and approve suppliers and CMs tooling and fixture designs.
  • American Society for Quality certification preferred (CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA).
  • Familiar with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949.

What You’ll Need:

  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in quality/reliability engineering role and takes care of the product from NPI to volume MFG stage.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams and management.
  • Strong manufacturing background in developing robust and repeatable processes to scale new products, including process qualification, process quality control and line qualification in a rapid schedule.
  • Expert in driving engineering requirements and continuous quality improvement at vendors and contract manufacturers.
  • Ability in data analysis tool.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing assembly process.
